You keep people and production moving

As a Production Supervisor, you act as the link between the shop floor, the team leaders and management. You ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly and that staff are able to perform to the best of their ability.

You will support team leaders of various nationalities in managing their teams in the greenhouse. You will also be the first point of contact for the grower and the production manager within your department. Together, you will ensure efficient planning, a pleasant working atmosphere and a high standard of work.

What are you going to do?

You ensure that people and tasks are well coordinated. In doing so, you keep a close eye on progress and make adjustments where necessary.

You check that hours worked have been recorded correctly and ensure that any discrepancies are corrected in good time.

You keep track of the team’s performance and the quality of their work. Where necessary, you discuss areas for improvement and take action.

You discuss with staff how they are getting on, what their strengths are and where there is scope for development. In this way, you help them to continue to grow in their roles.

You identify areas where processes could be made smarter, more efficient or better, and actively contribute ideas for practical solutions that really work on the shop floor.

You are approachable and available to the team, offer help where needed and provide clear guidance. In this way, you work together to create a pleasant working atmosphere in which people can perform well.

What are you bringing?

You are able to switch effectively between day-to-day operations and the broader perspective required to manage a team and schedule effectively.

You are proficient in using programmes such as Excel, Outlook and Word, and use them to keep track of scheduling, administration and communication.

You communicate clearly with colleagues at various levels and are also able to make yourself understood clearly in English.

You are flexible and understand that production and cultivation do not always take place during standard working hours.

Experience in greenhouse horticulture or a similar production environment will help you settle in quickly, but it is not a strict requirement.
